Terms & Conditions
High Lanes Cattery – Terms and Conditions
1. Bookings, Payments & Cancellations
Confirmation: A booking is only secured once a 25% deposit has been received.
Deposits: All deposits are non-refundable.
Final Payment: The remaining balance must be paid at least 7 days prior to the arrival date.
Cancellations: If a booking is cancelled less than 7 days before the scheduled arrival date, the full boarding fee remains payable.
Early Returns: No refunds or credits will be issued for cats collected before their scheduled departure date. The full booked period remains payable.
2. Health & Hygiene
Vaccinations: A valid vaccination certificate must be presented upon arrival. Failure to provide proof will result in the refusal of boarding.
Condition: We reserve the right to refuse any cat showing signs of infectious illness, parasites or poor health for the safety of all cats staying with us.
Medication: We are happy to administer prescribed medication at no extra charge, provided it is supplied in its original packaging with clear veterinary instructions. Medication is administered at the owner's risk, and we cannot accept responsibility for any adverse reactions to prescribed treatments.
Fleas: All cats must arrive free from fleas and other external parasites. If a cat is found to have fleas or evidence of a flea infestation during its stay, we reserve the right to administer an appropriate flea treatment to protect the health and welfare of all cats in our care. The cost of the treatment, together with any additional cleaning or environmental treatment required as a result of the infestation, will be charged to the owner.
We cannot be held responsible for any decline in health related to a non-disclosed pre-existing condition.
3. Veterinary Care & Liability
Emergency Protocol: In the event of illness or injury, we will make every reasonable attempt to contact you or your emergency contact immediately. If we are unable to reach anyone, we reserve the right to seek veterinary attention and authorise any treatment deemed necessary in the best interests of your cat.
Costs: All veterinary fees incurred during your cat's stay are the responsibility of the owner. This includes consultation fees, medication, treatment, transport and any emergency call-out charges.
Liability: Whilst every possible care is taken, all cats are boarded entirely at the owner's risk.
4. Diet & Belongings
Food: Owners must provide sufficient food for the duration of their cat's stay to avoid digestive upset. If food is not supplied, or if the supplied food runs out during the stay, we will purchase suitable food for your cat and invoice the owner for the cost of the food purchased.
Belongings: Owners are welcome to bring bedding, blankets or toys to help their cat feel at home. However, all personal belongings are left entirely at the owner's risk, and we cannot accept liability for any loss or damage.
5. Check-in & Collection
Appointments: Drop-offs and collections are strictly by appointment during our published opening hours. This allows us to give every cat (and owner) our full attention and maintain a calm environment.
Late Collection: Cats not collected by the agreed collection time may incur a Late Stay Fee of £20.
6. Photographs
We may occasionally take photographs of your cat during their stay for use on our website and social media pages. Please let us know before or at the time of booking if you do not wish your cat's image to be used.
7. Abandoned Cats
If a cat is not collected within 14 days of the agreed departure date and no contact has been made by the owner, we reserve the right to rehome the cat or surrender it to an appropriate animal rescue organisation. Any outstanding boarding fees, veterinary costs or other charges will remain payable by the owner.
8. Cats Sharing Pens
Cats from the same household sharing a unit do so at the owner's risk. If they show signs of aggression towards one another, we reserve the right to separate them into individual units for their safety. Any additional boarding charges resulting from this separation will be the responsibility of the owner.
Socialising: For the safety and welfare of all cats, cats from different households will never be mixed.
9. Owner Declaration
By making a booking, the owner confirms that they are authorised to enter into this agreement and that all information provided, including contact details, vaccination records, medical history and behavioural information, is true, accurate and complete. Failure to disclose relevant information may affect our ability to care for your cat safely, and High Lanes Cattery cannot be held responsible for any issues arising from inaccurate or incomplete information.
10. Amendments to these Terms and Conditions
High Lanes Cattery reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. The latest version will always be available on our website and will apply to all new bookings made after any amendments take effect.
11. Outstanding Payments
All boarding fees, veterinary costs and any additional charges incurred during your cat's stay must be paid in full.
Where permitted by law, High Lanes Cattery reserves the right to retain a cat until all outstanding sums have been paid in full. Any additional boarding fees incurred as a result of delayed collection due to unpaid charges will remain the responsibility of the owner.
12. Privacy
High Lanes Cattery will only collect and use your personal information for the purposes of administering your booking and providing care for your cat.
Your personal information will be stored securely and handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation. We will not sell or share your personal information with third parties except where necessary for the care of your cat (for example, your nominated veterinary practice or an emergency veterinary provider), where required by law, or with your consent.
